Additional Supplies:
Basic beading supplies, chain nose pliers, glue, necklace design board, scissors, twisted beading needle
Inspiration:
I love those gorgeous, heavy gemstone necklaces that are so popular right now, so I made my own version using look-alike beads and gold-tone findings!

Tip:
Wear this necklace as a single, long strand, or double it up for a heavier look.
Instructions:
1. Referring to the photo for placement ideas, arrange the Beads in the desired sequence on the necklace design board. Note: I used the photo of the original designer necklace as a guide for placing the Beads in a similar color and size sequence.
2. Thread the twisted beading needle with about 3 yds. of Silk Bead Cord and bring the needle to the center of the strand. Bring the two Cord ends together and string one bead tip over the two ends. Tie a few overhand knots using both Cords. Trim the Cord ends and add a dot of glue to the knot. Close the shell of the bead tip with chain nose pliers. fig 1
3. String the Beads onto the doubled length of Silk Cord in the planned order, adding or subtracting small Beads at the end to adjust the length as desired.
4. String the second bead tip onto the Cord. Cut the Cord where it is folded and remove the beading needle. Tie a square knot three times with the two Cord ends (Fig. 1). Trim the Cord ends and add a dot of glue to the knot. Close the shell of the bead tip with chain nose pliers.
5. Attach one half of the Clasp to the open loop on each bead tip. Close the loop with chain nose pliers. Note: The tension on silk thread or cord is tight when first used. When finished stringing, hang the necklace from a latch or hook for a few days to relax the cord and remove any kinks.
