The Babes of Bead Unique

Encouragement

The drive to do a good job is not limited to any one aspect of our lives; it’s intrinsic to all that we do. We all need encouragement. It’s not too evident in the picture above that all three members of the Bead Unique team—Pam, Joanna, and Kelly—were extremely lacking in sleep and energy of any kind. Yet, I can tell you that we were filled with happiness and boatloads of gratification at that tired and weary moment.
The photo was taken at the end of the Dessert Social at the Tahoe Mountain Bead Retreat in October 2009. We had spent the previous four days preparing for everything. There were early mornings and late (very late) nights, sore feet and aching backs, and yet we got through it all with encouragement—holding each other up, leaning on one another, and knowing that any one of us would be there in a pinch no matter what any one of us needed.
The Retreat did the same thing for everyone involved, I believe. I mean, that’s the point, isn’t it? Sharing time and beading with friends, and getting cheered on by our teachers, pampered by our sponsors, and championed by Bead Unique—and that’s the way it should be.
YOU are the reason why we do what we do. The overflowing encouragement from everyone at the Retreat, and from you, our readers, every day since, just proves that what we do matters…in a lovely, beady way!

“Linkin’ Ladder Bracelet” by Kathryn Bowman: Chain never looked so good.

“I Could Just Live Here!”: Check out Galena Beads… the coolest bead store in the Midwest!.

“Negative Space Caning” by Holly Gage: Learn a great new metal clay technique from a pro.

“Wedding Flowers” by Naoko Nojiri: Felted flowers make for a bold, beautiful necklace that is SO comfy to wear!

“Timeless Traditions” by Tatiana Van Iten: Delicate seed bead work makes a stunning choker with a “warm” twist, an heirloom necklace, a tiara, and more… now that’s a wedding.
